Energy Ministry opposes direct wholesale fuel price regulation

ST. PETERSBURG, Jul 27 (PRIME) -- The Energy Ministry opposes direct regulation of the wholesale fuel prices because it may trigger deficit, Minister Nikolai Shulginov said on Thursday.

"Any regulation, direct, leads only to deficit. Why do we need that?" Shulginov said.

The ministry is not discussing establishment of a united fuel exporter, he added.
